Quotes & Pricing
How do I get a quote?
Fill out our quick quote form with your pickup and delivery locations and your vehicle's year, make, model, and running condition. You'll get a free, no-obligation quote with no phone call required. If you'd rather talk to someone, our auto transport specialists are happy to help by phone too.
Do I need to provide my phone number to get a quote?
No, a phone number is optional. We only need an email address to send your quote. If you do provide a phone number, we may call or text you with updates about your shipment.
How is my auto transport cost calculated?
Several factors go into your quote, including the distance between pickup and delivery, whether you choose open or enclosed transport, your vehicle's size and any modifications, and whether it runs. We also consider how soon you need it picked up and delivered, along with current fuel prices and market rates.
Booking & Payment
Do I have to pay anything upfront?
No, booking with us is completely free. We don't collect any payment until your shipment has been dispatched to a carrier. At that point, you'll receive an email with your carrier's information and instructions for paying your deposit or the full amount.
How do I pay for my shipment?
We currently accept Zelle and Venmo. Once your shipment has been dispatched to a carrier, you can pay either a deposit or the full amount. If a balance remains after your deposit, it can be paid directly to the driver at delivery in cash or by check.
Can I pay with a credit card?
Not at this time. We currently accept Zelle and Venmo only, but you're welcome to pay your shipment in full through either one.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier, the better. Booking ahead often means a lower price and a better chance of securing a carrier, especially if your pickup or delivery location is off the major routes.
Do you sell my information?
No. We never sell your information, and we only share it with the carrier assigned to your shipment.
Cancellations
Can I cancel my shipment?
Yes. Just contact us as soon as possible so we can let the carrier know and release your spot on their schedule. If you cancel before your shipment has been dispatched to a carrier, there's no charge. After dispatch, a $150 cancellation fee applies, and any deposit you've paid is nonrefundable, as it covers the work involved in arranging your shipment. Whether you need to cancel or simply change your pickup date, reach out and we'll do our best to work with you.
Pickup & Delivery
Do I need to be there for pickup and delivery?
Someone needs to be there at both pickup and delivery, but it doesn't have to be you. Any trusted person 18 or older, such as a friend, family member, or coworker, can hand over the keys and sign the Bill of Lading documenting the vehicle's condition.
Where will my vehicle be picked up and delivered?
In most cases, right at the addresses you provide. If the carrier can't safely or legally reach your location, they'll arrange to meet you nearby at a spot with plenty of room, such as a truck stop, grocery store, or large parking lot.
What is a Bill of Lading (BOL), and why is it important?
The Bill of Lading is the inspection report and receipt for your shipment. At pickup, the driver records your vehicle's condition, including any existing damage. At delivery, you'll inspect the vehicle together again and note any changes. In the rare event your vehicle is damaged during transport, the BOL is the record you'll need to file an insurance claim, so be sure any damage is written on it before you sign.
How long will shipping take?
Delivery time depends mainly on distance. Carriers are legally limited in how many hours they can drive each day, so for a trip of about 1,000 miles, expect delivery within 2 to 3 days after pickup. Traffic, weather, mechanical issues, and the driver's other stops can sometimes cause delays.
Can you guarantee pickup or delivery dates?
Pickup and delivery dates are estimates and can't be guaranteed. That said, we work with a large network of vetted carriers to give your vehicle the best chance of moving within your requested timeframe. Carrier availability, weather, traffic, and mechanical issues can all affect timing.
Can I track my vehicle online?
We don't currently offer live tracking, but you can contact our team anytime for an update on your shipment.
Your Vehicle
What types of vehicles do you ship?
We ship nearly every type of vehicle, including sedans, coupes, SUVs, pickup trucks, and vans. Through our network of specialized carriers, we also handle luxury, exotic, and classic cars, as well as vehicles that need extra care, such as those with low ground clearance, modifications, or that don't run. Larger vehicles like lifted trucks, duallys, RVs, and commercial vehicles can be shipped too, with a custom quote based on size and weight. Not sure if we can move your vehicle? Just contact us and we'll let you know.
How do I get my vehicle ready to be shipped?
Wash your vehicle and clean out the interior before pickup. A clean car makes it easier for you and the driver to spot and record any existing damage during inspection. If you're leaving personal items inside, secure them in the trunk or on the back seat below the window line.
Can I put personal items in my vehicle?
We generally recommend against it, but it's allowed if the items weigh less than 100 pounds total and are packed neatly in the trunk or on the back seat, below the window line. Illegal items are never permitted. Keep in mind that personal items are not covered by insurance if they're damaged or lost, and carriers may charge extra or decline the shipment at their discretion if items are left in the vehicle.
How much fuel should be in my vehicle?
About a quarter to half a tank is ideal. That's enough to load and unload the vehicle without adding unnecessary weight.
Can I ship a vehicle without license plates?
Yes. All we need is the vehicle and its keys.
My car doesn't run. Can I still ship it?
Yes. Inoperable vehicles are loaded using a carrier equipped with a winch, which slowly and safely pulls the vehicle onto the trailer. Because of the special equipment and extra work involved, an additional fee applies. Just let us know your vehicle doesn't run when you request your quote so we can make the right arrangements.
Can I ship a modified vehicle?
Yes. Lifted trucks, lowered cars, vehicles with oversized tires, custom body kits, and other modifications can all be shipped through our nationwide network of specialized carriers. Because modifications can affect a vehicle's height, width, weight, or ground clearance, we'll need a few details to match it with the right carrier and give you an accurate quote. Reach out and let us know what's been modified.
Can I ship an oversized vehicle?
Yes. Through our network of specialized carriers, we can arrange transport for vehicles of nearly any size, including dually trucks, large vans, RVs, and commercial vehicles. Since pricing depends on the exact dimensions and weight, every oversized quote is prepared individually. Contact us with your vehicle's length, width, height, and weight, and we'll put together a rate for you.
Can I ship a vehicle with low ground clearance?
Yes. Vehicles with less than 4 inches of ground clearance usually need to be shipped on an enclosed carrier with a lift gate. Driving a low car up a standard trailer's ramps risks scraping or bottoming out, while a lift gate raises the vehicle level onto the trailer. When you request a quote, let us know your vehicle's ground clearance so we can match you with the right carrier.
Can I ship a vehicle from an auto auction?
Yes. We can arrange pickup from dealer and public auto auctions nationwide. To help things go smoothly, have your vehicle's release or gate pass ready, along with the lot or stock number, your buyer number, and the auction's address. Auctions often have set pickup hours and may charge storage fees if a vehicle isn't picked up in time, so it's best to book transport as soon as your purchase is final. Once we have your information, we'll coordinate with the carrier and the auction to get your vehicle on its way.
Transport Options
What types of auto transport services do you offer?
We offer both open and enclosed car shipping. Open shipping is by far the most common option. It's the kind you see on the highway, where vehicles ride on a two-level carrier that's open to the air. Enclosed shipping moves your vehicle inside a trailer with walls and a roof, keeping it protected from weather and road debris. We recommend enclosed transport for luxury, exotic, and classic cars.
What's the difference between open and enclosed car shipping?
The main differences are protection, cost, and availability. With open shipping, your vehicle rides on a two-level carrier exposed to the elements, just like the trucks that deliver new cars to dealerships. It's the most affordable and widely used option, and because there are far more open carriers on the road, it's usually easier and faster to schedule. Enclosed shipping moves your vehicle inside a covered trailer, shielding it from weather, dust, and road debris. Enclosed carriers often use lift gates for gentler loading and haul fewer vehicles at a time, so this option costs more and may take longer to book. Open shipping is a safe, reliable choice for most everyday vehicles, while enclosed shipping is best for luxury, exotic, classic, and low-clearance cars.
What is door-to-door car shipping?
Door-to-door transport means your vehicle is picked up from your chosen location and delivered straight to its destination, with no need to drop it off or pick it up at a terminal. Car carriers are large trucks that need plenty of room to maneuver, load, and unload, so narrow streets, low-hanging branches, power lines, or local truck restrictions can sometimes keep them from reaching your address. When that happens, the driver will meet you at a nearby spot with more space, such as a large parking lot or shopping center.
What kind of truck will be transporting my vehicle?
It depends on your vehicle, route, and the type of service you choose. Most vehicles ship on open car carriers, the large two-level trucks you see on the highway, which typically haul 7 to 10 vehicles at a time. Enclosed shipments travel inside a fully covered trailer, often with a lift gate for loading low or high-value cars. For smaller loads, we also use hotshot carriers: a heavy-duty pickup truck pulling a flatbed or gooseneck trailer that usually carries 1 to 4 vehicles. Hotshots are more maneuverable than full-size carriers, making them a great fit for tight residential streets, rural areas, and shorter routes. We'll match your vehicle with the carrier that best fits your shipment.
Do you offer top load service?
We don't offer guaranteed top load placement. Each carrier plans its load based on the size and weight of every vehicle on the truck and the order of pickups and drop-offs along the route. This keeps the load balanced and safe and helps your vehicle get loaded and unloaded efficiently, so we leave placement to the driver's expertise. If you'd like extra protection from road debris and weather, enclosed transport is a great option.
About NEXLogistix, Carriers & Insurance
What is an auto transport broker?
An auto transport broker connects customers who need to ship a vehicle with the carriers who actually haul it. Rather than owning trucks, a broker works with a large network of licensed and insured carriers across the country, matching each shipment with a driver whose route, schedule, and equipment fit the job. This gives you access to far more trucks and routes than any single carrier could offer, which often means faster pickups and more flexible options. As your broker, we handle the details, from finding the right carrier to coordinating pickup and delivery and keeping you updated, so you have one point of contact from start to finish.
Are you a carrier or a broker?
NEXLogistix is an auto transport broker (DOT: 4238940 | MC-1641261). We arrange your shipment through our network of 10,000+ vetted carriers and don't operate the trucks ourselves.
Is NEXLogistix licensed and insured?
Yes. NEXLogistix is licensed, insured, and bonded, with 15+ years of combined experience in the auto transport industry.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Yes. The carriers we work with are required to carry cargo insurance, which covers your vehicle against damage caused by the carrier while it's in their care. We verify each carrier's insurance before assigning them to your shipment, and insurance documentation for your assigned carrier is available upon request. At pickup and again at delivery, you and the driver will inspect your vehicle and record its condition on the Bill of Lading. If you notice any damage at delivery, make sure it's noted on the BOL before you sign, since that's the record used to file a claim. Personal items left in the vehicle are not covered by the carrier's insurance.
